Got a service done between Christmas and new year and as part of it they carried out the emissions fix. Since it has been done I must have travelled around 2k miles and I have noticed quite a drop in mpg. Would normally get around 850miles out of a full tank on a good long motorway run. Seems now in only getting around 700.

Anyone else with a similar issue?

    Vw Passat 2008 CR 170.

Ive had the same problem. My audi A6 2010 plate 2.0 mpg has gone down 50%, engine over revs and engine fans are constantly on. Regretting the fix!. Going back to Audi tomorrow!

That's awful! Let us know how you get on. Might go for a remap myself.

Although I got the letter from VW I have not had the remap done and I never knew about the remap chaos either so I am going to leave it the way it is, 40mpg around town and 60mpg with careful driving on an empty flat road.

I have had two letters and a call from my local VAG dealer...I am still not having it patched.

Just to drop in my experience, I had the fix done and for about 3 weeks my mpg was right down, then all of a sudden it went back up to where it usually sat before the update and it's still up now.

No idea why because I'd had no extra work done, no services or change in garage for fuel. Maybe someone on here could have an explanation.
