    Hi guys,
Iv'e been a long time lurker on this forum for my Polo but I bought a 2009 A4 about a year ago and its been riddled with problems since!
With 104k on the clock now, I've recently had my con rods replaced through Audi due to the oil consumption issue but since then there's been something seriously wrong with my car.

I have rough idling, it sounds like its gasping for air and it doesn't really accelerate too fast. On top of this, I sometimes have issues with it starting not to mention when it cuts off around corners and leaves me with a locked steering wheel haha
Took it back to Audi and they told me the bolts from my intake into my engine were stripped which was causing unregulated air and recommended either a £4500 new cylinder block or to get it repaired with helicoil inserts. I opted for the inserts and now here we are, same problems keep presenting themselves. Its been back to Audi a few times, they keep telling me they can't find anything wrong. The timing is correct and it problems should subside in time but iv'e done around 4k since the repairs from them and nothing has improved.
Im copying my VCDS log below, any help would be greatly appreciated!

According to me its a combination of my crank shaft sensor and maybe my lamda sensors? but theres some strange errors on there im not sure of at all!

I would clear the errors and see what returns. Lots of old codes there it seems. First one suggests something isn't plugged in, right engine mount solenoid for example

I cleared them 2 days ago, these are fresh codes unfortunately
Ive read quite in depth about this solenoid error but people who have completely replaced it still seem to have the code come up?

Just about to go clean my MAF sensor just incase

Edit: I cleared them about 4 days ago actually

From all them codes it seems to be a fueling issue or a timing issue. Either way that's a lot of codes to have for the engine. I would be getting a mechanic to look at it asap.

Thanks I'd love to take it to a mechanic but everyone I've taken it to so far including Audi don't have a clue?!

Some of the codes such as the timing ones suggests to me a low oil pressure problem When Audi dealt with the oil consumption issue it is the pistons they are supposed to replace. If the internals were clogged to the eyeballs with crud and they do a typically quick warranty job then they won't have cleaned out the system. Then they go and put in new VAG oil which strips the crap from the engine and it all goes into the sump where it blocks the oil pressure pick up which slows the operation of the variable valve timing system which is oil operated.

Thanks, is there something I can use to flush it all out?
Also - cleared the codes and it was acting normal for while then EML came on for the first time... Says it's my bank 2 lamda sensor I believe.. And I still have that solenoid error too
The one about my wing mirrors is also persistent but I take it that makes no difference to my issue

Start the engine, let it idle and clear the faults, the first two at least should not come back as if you look at the data the battery was as flat as a Witches ***! The fuel level too low is obvious as well. Your is a 2010 model and has a CDNC engine

Unfortunately in my experience there is no substitute for removing the cam cover and the sump and cleaning the crud off and I use paint stripper but inside the head and block I use aerosol degreaser. Then with the engine back together I run flushing oil for an hour or so BUT that can release so much hidden muck that the pick up blocks again so I don't put the subframe back up until I am happy. Also the oil pump pick up pipe should be replaced. PLEASE don't pour paint stripper into the engine and run it as one idiot did when I suggested using it!

The simple cause of ALL this trouble with oil consumption, cam chain system wear and sludge comes down to these insane longlife service intervals, it has to be one of the most stupid ideas I have ever seen in the motor industry, save a few quid on servicing but wreck countless hundreds of thousands of engines, stupid, utterly stupid.

Perfect! I'll give this a try but shouldn't I get audi to do it seeing as they caused the mess?!
