Anyone got any thoughts before I take it down to the dealers (will be, just not until Monday).

6 weeks old. Mainly motorway miles, ~80 miles a day.

Have you tried driving it hard for a while to see if it clears? Shouldn't be getting this problem at this stage, but have you been keeping the RPM's low because it's new?

No low revs. It's averaging 80 miles a day, mixed speed motorway driving. Have blasted it since new. Seems unusual. 3rd BE now and first to do this.

Do you have scanner to check the fault code? I know it's Audi's problem, but just out of curiosity it'd be interesting to see the fault code. Might be something simple like a faulty differential pressure sensor.

Just ran a scan and nothing showing. Don't yet know enough about VCDS on where to find historic faults.

That is weird. If you disconnect the battery and touch the terminals together to clear the capacitors it might clear the error. But probably best to leave it as is so Audi can troubleshoot it tomorrow.

I wouldn't do this on a banger, never mind a brand new Audi.

A lot of people say that, I've done it at some point in every car I've ever owned, including a couple of times on my A6, never had any problems. Maybe I'm just lucky.

There are a number of cars on the market that have twin batteries (there is a small gell battery or a smaller conventional battery to complement the main starter battery). Even without the possibility of a second battery, modern electronic systems are too fragile for me to want to do that. Maybe I am just a scaredy-cat. But I certainly wouldn't advocate it for a car under warranty.
