from what I know its only done at the dealers I think Leicester Audi quoted me something like £250.

It can be done yourself of your computer/technically minded. If you have access to vcds software and cable that also helps. You can buy the updated SD cards on eBay or download them from various sources

I was thinking that was only with the facelift models from 2015 onwards , may have to see if anyone around Leicestershire or mild lands would have the VCDS.

    Thanks

Do u know if yours if MMI 3gp system without the Sim card slot. If you go into the MMI setup it should give you the version your running which will help identify the setup you have

Then yours will be 3GP and updates can be done as long as you have VCDS and are not technically illiterate. Contact DJAlix over on audi-sport. For the dealer price quoted you can have a FM and Map update and come away with change.
