How was it blanked? An old sock shoved in there? Maybe it was only a temp solution.

After DPF remove and mapping out there shoudnt be any smoke ! My guess garage didnt do quality job removing DPF and EGR or some of your injectors are playing up.
And if you just got the DPF light once it doesnt automaticly mean it have to be removed. It requires looking at live data while driving with pedal flat to the floor from 1500 to 4000 rpm and looking at backpressure to diagnose if DPF is blocked without possibility to regen.

I know all about the DPF, It wouldn't regenerate, I tried everything, even initiating the DPF regen via VAG, then driving 50+ miles at 2500 revs...Still nothing! So the DPF removal was the last stage...& the car was running fine after DPF removal apart from being smokey.

Anyway...My current issue isn't DPF related I don't think, its either EGR related or Gearbox related. I took the car out again on Saturday for a short run to keep the battery charged & when I'm driving I can use the shift paddles to move up & down the box & it shifts fine...It just judders...If it was the gearbox surely it wouldn't be shifting up & down so smooth would it?

    Thanks again for your input.

Right...I'll update & finish the thread off to hopefully help another user that finds him or herself in the same situation. Thanks for all your helpful & non-helpful contributions.

I took it to Birmingham based Gearbox Specialist Drivers Transmissions & they confirmed it was a Gearbox Fault - They said it was too far gone to repair & would require a complete reconditioned box & quoted £2300 + VAT

Previous to this I found a company advertising on eBay called Milta Technology located in Bristol (Link Below) They advertise to either repair existing Gearbox if possible or if not a full recon box for £1250 all in! They also provide a recovery service which is £1.00 per mile within 100 miles. I thought this is too cheap from all the horror stories i've read so I called them to confirm, & they did! so I booked the recovery from central Birmingham, they collected on Thursday 13th & the car was ready for collection on Tuesday 18th (Good Friday & Easter Monday in between also)

The guys at Milta confirmed that the problem was the Output Shaft was Broken or Cracked & this causes the box to lose pressure & this causes the chain/pully to slip inside the box, Hence the Juddering when speeding up & slowing down. When the car cruises at a steady speed it will drive ok-ish! They confirmed this was the common fault with the CVT boxes between 2005 & 2008.

Website: MILTA Technology – Gearbox Technology of The Future. UK top experts in automatic gearbox repair and rebuild.

eBay listing: Audi A4 Automatic auto CVT Gearbox recon supply and fit 6 - 7 speed 2001-2008 | eBay

Anyway, I picked the car up & she is now purring like a kitten...Lovely!

This is me finishing this thread off as it should be done so hopefully this will help others in the future.
