I guess i understood it wrong its the main head unit that i found, is the cd changer seperate somwhere in the car, why couldnt you live close by gunnark you would have made my life so much easier, anyhow what do you advise me to do purchase the unit i have found or look for one that ends 666 then any number, do you think audi cant be ***** to look at what is causing the fault and have told me i need a new 5f module, will the new module i get need coding from audi or is their a way around this, i dont want to mess around updating software is the panasonic unit older or new than mine, when u say tweak ghe adaptation channel do you mean that someone could potentially fix the module that i have and the issue of freezing every 4 minutes could be resolved by the tweak, sorry if im repeating myself but want to be sure as to what i need to do and my brain is overload at the moment, thanks

1. Buy unit which is same as yours 8t2035666 regardless of the letter at the end it will work, it will make your car sell better, if you update system to the latest soft and maps, but its not something you must do!
2. Dont buy cd charger, because you need to install it to the glovebox and probably you need new glovebox insert also, if you dont have 2 shelfs there already, for 3G CD charger is useless weight anyway and no one will use it
3. Regarding your present system, if all you have in mainunit module regarding error, is the same fault as was posted here "software management" - forget, tweaking this error out, will not make your system work, this is useless error, which is not important and will not affect system to work!
4. If you replace mainunit, best is to get full coding from your old and paste it to the new unit with vcds, you need trip to audi anyway after that as "component protection" needs to be removed(new mainunit will be registered under your car vin so to say). Maybe you have some local hackers who can clone component protection with vcp from your old unit to the new, but probably no such people around you. Some independent garages have also vas tools and online connections, but probably you have to go to dealer(no idea about Sheffield car electronics specialists)

It should work, as far i remember the front panel can be changed out if all have been done in proper way(if front panel was removed from this unit correctly and nothing there is broken, its a bit odd and strange, but never know what was real purpose that this unit has no front panel anymore, some people are using a6,a8,q7 main units swapping front panel to fit it to their a4,a5,q5, maybe its the case - no idea!

Thanks a lot you have taken needless stress of my head, did you take a look at the unit i found in the link, the front panel is missing, could i take this off my module and fit it, is it easy enough to do, sorry will stop doing your head in soon 😜

Sorry i cant say, its the front panel change easy or hard for you, i guess you will manage with it anyway, just take your time, sorry no instruction from me in this case, as i have not done such thing myself and dont remember any diy where is explained how to do this, but it was removed from the unit so you can fit yours there, if nothing will be broken etc! Ask from seller, how and why!

Thanks a million, i will purchase this unit for £85, which is way cheaper than anything else on ebay, closest one is £499, maybe its cheap as the front panel missing i dont know but will give it a try, i cant thank you enough for all the advise you have given me in troubleshooting my mmi problems and helping me work towards a solution !!

No problem, glad to help, hopefully unit is ok and audi can remove component protection and system will run again!
