As far as I remember no, I am getting on now and sometimes doubt my memory. If I'm wrong then there's a difference between 6 speed and 7 speed dsgs. As I remember it comes with its own oil which is about 0.9 litres it's not fillable and I remember someone asking what if it leaks out and the answer was it's scrap replace it. Check Google I have drunk a lot of Jack Daniels today.

    Hi,

New to the forum and needing some help please.

I'm having the exact same problem here with car stuck in park and my park icon on dash is flashing with the wrench symbol....

Perfect timing as my Mrs is pregnant and can't get to her work or even get my little one to her nursery in the morning so bit of a nightmare.

Thinking I should check this j587 plug incase any oil or water has found its way in and shorted out a terminal...BUT.... I don't know where to find it... I've removed the cover underneath the engine and had a look but can't seem to find it...

Can anyone point me in the direction of where to find the plug coz I really don't want to have to change the control module if I can help it as its not cheap.

    Cheers

    Grant

Update !!! Found the j857 plug and checked for oil as mentioned previously but was clean as a whistle.

So far I have checked fuse voltages, disconnected the battery overnight to see if it would reset itself. Found j857 plug and pulled apart to check for oil....

Apologies for my stupidity but I'm guessing j857 goes from the control module and into the gearbox itself (gearbox end being where I checked for oil) and by replacing j857 u mean opening the control module and completely replacing the harness ?

I'm at a bit of a loss today and weather is miserable to be messing around in my driveway and getting nowhere so any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers
