    Hi,

    Audi a6 avant 1999.

I sold my car to a friends dad a couple of years ago and it's sprung a problem.

The car starts as normal, runs for a second and then dies.

I straight away thought immobiliser problem.

I ran a vagcom on it and the only fault was "01559-drivers door 60-00-won't safe".

I had problems with this lock when I owned it when the alarm went off constantly, and replaced it with a 2nd hand one and all has been good for a couple of years.

Does one of the door lock microswitches send signals for the immobiliser or it the fact the door "won't safe" triggering the problem?

    thanks in advance

    carl.

If it's an immobliser issue, the key symbol should light up in the dash, and a fault code will show in the instruments ECU, and possible the engine one too.
I always get several faults showing in the doors, including won't de-safe. Mostly caused by children not closing the doors properly before locking / unlocking, but never an issue with starting. example scan-
