    Hi All,

I have brake wear light showing on my dashboard. I have checked brakes on all tyres, none require replacing. So why would the brake wear light show ?. Secondly if it is the faulty brake pad sensor causing this, how to identify which wheel is it from ? any easier way of doing this without undoing all wheels ?

    Thanks

    Shubh

Not sure how you've checked the pads properly without removing the front wheels, but if you remove the wheels ( not sure if you have wear indicators on both sides or just one) you will see there is a plugged connector where the pad plugs into the harness which runs up the front strut with the ABS sensor cable. Check this plugged connection as the circuit is break to activate, could be your pads are worn down more than you think though.

If the brake fluid was low it would throw up a red symbol. The same as the handbrake on warning light. The brake pad indicator is orange.
I had this problem on my old Peugeot. Apparently they use some type of metal in the brake pad material. Some times this can cause the light to be triggered because a current is going through the whole brake pad. This is even if there is plenty of meat left on the brake pad. All I did in this situation was disconnected the wear sensor and cut it off at the pad. The light went out but just had to periodically check the pads for wear.

Sometimes the inner pad can wear more than the outer.
