And Q3 for the A7 although this applied to the A6 too...
I think the USB ports under the arm-rest are very under powered. Anyone know what they actually give out?

I'm trying to find a reliable android app that can measure vs other USB chargers I have to see if its the ports or cable or both but if anyone knows already....

    Thanks

Your lucky, I don't even have any USB ports under my armrest, well not that I have found anyway.

I just have the AMI port - I bought a genuine AMI to lightning lead, but it takes an age to charge the iPhone 7.

Also got an AMI to USB lead as part of the pack, I'll give that a try tomorrow.

I don't think the Ami port gives enough power to charge modern smart phones quickly for that I use a charger from one of the cigarette lighter sockets. I'm going to hardwire some USB charging ports into the glove box our of the way for the stuff I use in the car

The under-arm ones are not "intelligent" quick charging ports.

Thanks for that - I ended up also getting the Aukey USB charger from Amazon "AUKEY Quick Charge 3.0 Car Charger 34.5W Dual Port for iPhone, LG, HTC, Nexus and more"

This has made a HUGE difference to the point that not only does it keep the phone on the charge it was on but actually does charge the phone to 100% while running apps such as Waze/Google Maps/Spotify etc. I've never had this happen since I started with Audi that had a USB port whether it's like the A6/A7 now under the arm-rest or via the AMI in the glovebox or otherwise so this is great.

I did do a comparison using Ampere app and there was a noticable drop in charge/current when compared to the Aukey so clearly the larger screen and higher power S7 Edge coupled with high resource apps such as sat nav works very well with the Aukey

One in the ashtray, one under the arm rest, one under the rear AC vents and also one in the boot. Plenty of charging ports for all occupants when coupled with dual USB low profile chargers
