    Good day,

My A6 (2006 115k miles) is running very lumpy on low revs. When you accelerate it smooth-ens out but still not butter smooth. I am using high octain Diesel, done a full service, filter etc etc and a Terraclean. It is still running lumpy.

No error codes, dark smoke on normal running

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When the engine is warm and left to idle do you get a lot of smoke?

no, only get smoke when you accelerate through the lumpiness, and on start up but it is not billowing out. I have not driven it or seen it since the Terraclean.

I am having the injectors checked......... may wallet is getting lighter and lighter!!! I have found 6 re manufactured ones from Germany for 700eur as £1900 seems nuts, only paid £3250 for the car in the first place. Anyone got any thoughts?

Well, injectors tested and failed. every single one on at least 2 peramitors. So, going to buy new ones. Anyone know the serial number of the newest model...... I know there are 4 generations of them but not sure what is the newest.

Had all of the injectors replace at the tune of £230/injector.......... went for new in the end.

Guess what......... still not running correctly...... running less lumpy but still not good....... checked the MAF = good....... did a air leak test back to turbo = good........ any ideas?

Going to bypass the fuel and check petrol has not been put in the tank as I can't find the receipt to confirm. Then egr and throttle body..... if that doesn't find it I guess timing chain...... car cost 3k to buy and the work will cost the same again I think..... might just go the whole hog and get it remapped when it is fixed!!!
