Hi all, I have had an injector fail in my b7 2.0 TDI BPW engine Audi.
Replacement part on a single injector is ridiculous!
Injector number is 038 130 073bj. Does anyone know why this is so expensive compared to any other?
Would an injector part 038 130 073ba work? Both are identical in shape, size etc, apart from the part number.
Please can someone shed some light on this and help!!

    Thanks in advance

its going to be hard to find anyone that can identify the difference between 2 almost identical injectors, and just as hard to find someone that tried it . the bloke that built them might know, but might not. even a diesel specialist probably wouldnt know, but playing with different part numbers is like playing with fire. the spray pattern might be slightly different and you dont find out until it blows a hole in your piston or through the cylinder itself, or it might be perfectly fine.. but as a rule, replace like or like.

    OK, thanks for that.
I am just amazed that one part number costs £776 for one injector (main dealer) and just under £500 on Fleabay, yet the other part number is sub £100?

Have you looked into a service ex set instead of one new injector?
