Is my A4 cab a B6 or B7 and are the bonnets the same ?

Hello all,

I recently purchased the wife a lovely Audi a4 s-line Cab and she's successfully driven into the back of another car and trashed the bonnet :(

All in all it fixable, but bonnets for a Audi A4 s-line B7 cost a fortune ! however I can't see the difference between my bonnet and the B6 bonnets on eBay etc..

Question is how do I find out what type of bonnet I have B6 or B7 (theres no part number on the bonnet inner) Was the face lift just bumpers and light or panel too

Your help is greatly appreciated :)

The cab I have is a 2007 A4 S-line so Im guessing its a B7.

Im just wondering if a bonnet from a 2005 or B6 is the same ?

Correct, you have a B7.

The B6 and B7 bonnets are completely different. The B6 has the grille surround attached whereas the B7 doesn't.

You just need a B7 bonnet. S-line makes no difference.

Not 100% correct with the cabby b6. where the saloon and avant will have grille attached the cabriolet is just a straight forward bonnet with no grille, the grille stays down with headlights when bonnet is up

Does that then mean the B6 grille will fit?

Not entirely sure what you mean, just to clarify, the b6 saloon and avant front grille will lift with the bonnet, whereas the b6 cabby has just a flat bonnet which leaves the grille down with the head lamps etc, rather like the b3 80 has a bonnet but the b4 80 has a bonnet and grille in one piece.
The b7 cabby also has a bonnet with no grille, just a flat panel if you like, but the b7 saloon/avant Im not sure about because the b7 has the large one piece grille bumper(big mouth) set up.

Right, just done a google images check and the b7 has a flat bonnet with no grille attached whether the car is cabby or saloon or avant.
The b7 bonnet is a slightly different shape to the b6 cabby item so wont interchange.
That said a lot of people have successfully converted the b6 cars to have b7 front ends but I believe you would need wings lamps and bumper to achieve the conversion.
If what I have posted here is still not clear then do a simple google images search, I would stick up the images but have no clue how to drive a computer

Because I'm a tool, what I meant was, would the B6 BONNET fit, not the grille
