    Hiyya I'm thinking of replacing the glow plugs any hints and tips on replacing them and are they easy to do?I've been.reading about them snapping is this quite common and am I better off getting a garage do the job for me?thanks

    just take your time, if they snap off in garage, you will need to pay extra anyway
    VW POLO 2002 1.2 12v , Audi A6 2006 2.0 TDi SE , Skoda Fabia 1.4 TDi

    All 3 cars in the current fleet

    are they broke though.. ?? you could just see if they will come loose to start with, you might be surprised.
    Audi 80 tdi avant with 360,000 miles...

    Any reason to think they might need changing? high mileage, poor cold starting, cold smoking, misfiring on startup, have you done a resistance test or just curious ? If it ain't broke......

    Just having problems now and then starting when cold it's intermittent starts OK when hot,it's only done 55000 just thought I'd change the glow plugs see if it solves it

    OK, might be worth checking your coolant temp sender is ok as well, does your temp gauge behave itself?

    My temp gauge is ok,I've just cleaned all the connections up,then decide if have a go at changing them

    The coolant temp sensor also tell the ECU how hot or cold the coolant is, not just the gauge.
    Get the colds read first, because you may be barking up the wrong tree.
