So, the Mrs has pranged there new car!

Its been scrapped along a lamp-post. I'm away from home at the moment so I haven't seen it but she took it to a coach works and I've spoken to them - it has really just damaged the paint ..... no real panel damage.

its booked in during the second week in March

    Question....

She took it to the coachwork as they were heavily recommended by friends. Good on her to go the same day.

BUT should i get it fixed by Audi? It sounds like it is only paint .... but might a 3rd party cause me problems later if I have rust in that area??

    Any thoughts??

    Jon

I would have thought Audi would send it out to a body-shop/coachworks themselves. I'd always use a specialist works.

Ask your local Audi dealer who they would use for any warranty paint repairs.

Agree. The only time I've insisted on a dealer was when someone smashed my front bumper on previous X5, as I wanted to ensure the radar for the ACC was properly reinstalled / calibrated.

got the same issues and found these websites that might help:

http://www.vwgroup-paintandbody.co.u...treLocator.asp (approved bodyshops for VW group vehicles - I verified by speaking to my local audi dealer and they let slip they use hamilton and palmer which is on the website too)

    Also found this
http://assets.nissan-aftersales.co.u..._BodyShops.pdf - mainly for nissan vehicles, but suspect if its good for a main manufacturer should be good for VW cars too
