Just noticed yesterday that my tiguan seams to be playing up i always keep the autohold on as the mrs moans if she borrows the car without it switched on. I had to get out of the car whilst leaving work as the power gate malfunctioned so had to open it manually before i got out i noticed there was no handbrake light. Normally it should trigger the handbrake when the seat belt is uncliped. The auto hold light was on. The unbuckled seat belt light was on so its not a faultly buckle switch has anyone else had any issues before i get the diagnoatic tool out.

No the actual handbrake should apply when either the drivers door is opened or the seat belt is removed. I recon its a software glitch as if i press off the auto hold button it activates and works fine for weeks then does it again.
