Can i put an OEM set of B6 allys on my B5.5. My old rims are pretty bad and leaky all round. Was hoping for a cheap and prettier fix. Would these fit with no mods and be safe/equivalent to what i have (std 15's i think).

    VW PASSAT 2005 - 2010 B6 16 INCH ALLOY WHEELS AND TYRES 215 55 16.

    Cheers

    Apologies for formatting.

Haha. No, sorry. I am actually an engineer but i don't know what the offset means in this case. I have seen it mentioned on other threads following my simple search. How can i find out what it is for my wheels?

It should be marked somewhere on the wheels together with the other dimensions - e.g. "6J x 14 H2 ET45". The number after the ET is the offset in mms.

Ok. Then in that case it's 37 or 39mm.

It looks like the ones i'm looking at have an offset of 47mm. Is that an issue? I'm guessing that means they will stick out from the hub further?

Opposite , they'll fit all right but will be more tucked into the arches .

    It's only when 7.5 J , ET 47 and 235 tyre things get cosy up front .

So in short it wouldn't be an issue but it might look odd? I would effectively be reducing my transverse wheel base too so I guess handling might be a bit different?
