And now from someone who has taken the plunge, do it.
After many happy years of double B5.5 ownership and hours and hours of work on them (all done by myself) I sold both, bought an Exeo for myself and a Jazz for my wife, she is very happy with hers and I am in love with mine.

The trouble is with the Exeo is it has the shorter in the rear A4 B7 chassis , the only real answer is a Skoda Superb which gives more rear room than a Passat .

Granted the rear leg room is restricted, could be a problem if the driver is tall or drives lying down and you need to carry adults or older kids in the back, never been a problem for me though.
You will get a much better Exeo for the price of a Superb
