The split pipe is probaly due to excessive system pressure from the EWP not working, this has also been known to split the heater matrix. Most designs of these pumps do not use brushes, they inductively drive a magnetic impeller as the direct drive designs tend to leak into the motor, such as the TTRS design which forces water down the core of the wires and fills up the plug with water which stops the engine... great design!



Some have two EWP's, early ones are both the same and 2005> both are different. The typical unit is the 3D0 965 561 D £150.74 genuine but I use the Febi version which tends to cost around £90.

the pipe was split due to rubbing on the fuse box near the battery and worn through, got the pump working now aswell, just changed the bushes , seems a bit better, i want to do a egr delete now , any advice ?

Yes, don't, it's illegal and part of the reason why diesels are getting such bad press at the moment. Personally I think it should be a banned subject on this forum.
