A4 2.0 TDI injector problem

hi, im new to this site so will use as much detail as possible.

i have a 2006 A4 2.0 tdi, im having a big injector problem!

basically the car was running perfectly, had the timing belt etc and clutch done when i first got the car which had 125000 miles, it is now on 128000 and out of the blue just had massive loss of power, loads of black smoke and then eventually died.

i took it to a garage who run diagnostics with no information given, i then took it to an Audi specialist in scunthorpe who used VAGCOM which again threw up no faults.

after loads of digging and tests they found that all 4 injectors had failed, so, i had all 4 replaced but the car still wouldn't run right, i have now had a new injector loom as well and one injector is still not firing properly, baring in kind the car has now been in the garage for nearly 10 weeks...yes 10 weeks!!! im at my witts end as all i seem to get is bad news and the bill is rising daily, currently at £1200, and im running out of money...

any help would be appreciated as i think the garage is running out of ideas aswell...cheap ones anyway??

has anybody had a similar problem etc and how was it solved?

what age is the car, is it common rail or a pd engine. engine code would help ?

its a 2006 and pretty sure its a PD, dont have engine code as its still in garage.......they are running VAGCOM again today but im not confident it will show anything as it never has before, possible ECU fault is what im thinking ATM or sticking valves.

OK so quick update.....

i got the car back yesterday after, in the end having the following done:-

4 x new injectors
Injector wiring loom
EGR delete and map to compensate
new fuel filter

all at a cost of £1380.53!!

the car now runs beautifully when going, loads of power, loads of torque and generally very smooth......but it is unbelievably rough on idle, if its run for a bit then it clears up but then goes back to being rough?

any ideas??

I'm thinking the EGR delete and remap must have deleted the V157 intake throttle flap functionality, which is supposed to better control the EGR. If not, this could be all over the place trying to control non existent EGR ? just a thought. You could take off the inlet pipe and check what the flap is doing at tickover if you're carefull.

cheers Rob69 ill give it a go at weekend, it settles after a few seconds but then once driven for a bit it goes lumpy again?
