Someone in the A6 forum found and fitted a system called heat shot. It heats the washer fluid to 60ish degrees which helps shift ice and snow in the winter and bugs in the summer. Its hot enough to produce steam but not crack the windscreen. There are two versions available, the AT38ODI and the AT38OD. I initially had the AT380ODI which has an ignition switched live cable. The idea is this completes the circuit when the power is on and heats the fluid. After these draining my battery, the seller swapped them FOC for AT38OD. These connect to positive and ground connects and only take a feed when the battery has 12.5V or more. If it falls below that they turn off. Ive had no issues since the new set went on.

This is how to fit them, but not in the right order. YOU MUST Prime the units by jetting the screens before connecting the power cables.

Here is how to fit itthis is on the A5, will be similar for other models but please check)

First remove the plastic scuttle. its held on by 3 plastic clips. The reveals a void in which I fitted the units. I fitted two as its a big screen so get twice the amount of hot fluid. Up from 3-5 seconds to 6-10.

First unit was mounted on the front of the scuttle void and the second on the rear. They are connected so the hot fluid comes out of one, into the other and then to the screen. First mounting point... (You can also see the connection for the negative/Gnd part of the system.)

    The positives were connected here....

And here you can see both units and lots of cables. I left all of the spare cables so if the car gets sold, I can remove these and add them to the next car.

Finally was to connect them to the washer fluid lines. DO NOT CUT straight through this tube, it has the fluid pipe in but also as the wires for the heated jets which you will snip if you go straight through. Carefully cut it open and snip the pipe. Then connect it to the two units.

And I think thats it. Start your engine, give it 20-30 seconds and watch it steam.

The jets have been upgraded to give the mist efffect too. Part numbers are 4G0955987A & 4G0955988A and are a direct swap.

Here is how to fit the new nozzles
