Airbag light on and this time won't clear with VCDS. Have had past issues with water ingress and plenum chamber was again blocked and carpet a bit damp (but not a puddle). VCDS says sensor 180 faulty (in past has always shown as short to ground and cleared OK). After disconnecting battery have managed to get to sensor by forcing carpet out from under trim (couldn't work out how to do it any other way as trim seems to be a major dismantling job...any tips??).

Which way does the wiring run to save me having to rip up more carpet and what else should I check.

is there any other way of checking the sensor once out and disconnected (resistance value for instance) ?

I would swap it with drivers side to test but after the ball ache of getting the passenger carpet and seat out would rather not go through it all again unless there is an easy way????.

take out the rubber drains in the plenum chamber out , they go hard with age are not pliable enough

let the car dry out over a few weeks and then try resetting airbag

is sensor that dear to replace rather than messing about with wiring ?

sensor is £137+VAT from the *******. TPS will give a bit of discount so it is only a mere £123+VAT, so yes I did want to prove it is def the sensor as non returnable. I have got a supposedly guaranteed used but correct one on order for £53 (STILL A LUDICROUS AMOUNT!) Fault moved with sensor when I swapped from passenger side to drivers so is the sensor. I ended up forcing the carpet out from under the trim as couldn't workout how to get the side trim off
