    Hi All,

How hard is it to change the cam belt / water pump on a 2004 A2 1.6 FSI?

Is the crank pulley on a wood ruff key or do they float?

Thanks in advance for any help and guidance

I had a quick look at the crank pulley bolt today, its not normal flat headed bolt it looks like it a spline head bolt so I may need to go and buy a socket to fit it

dont think they are not keyed to the crankshaft, so should be quite normal. if its an external spline on the bolt then you use a normal 12 point multi hex socket.

    Hi Zollaf,

Do I need to lock the crank to undo the bolt?

    Use a flywheel locking tool?
