Hi all and thanks for having me 😊 First off I don't know if this is the right area to post this topic? Anyway if I'm wrong please can someone advise.
I have just ordered a new drivers front window Mech for my a4 b6 Avant 2004 pre face but the teeth on the motor itself appear to be slightly worn on the face, so....I'm wondering if this cog can be bought separate and fitted to my current motor or, is it a case of replaceing the motor completed its self? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance.

Hi, how worn are the splines actually, they might well be acceptable to be reused and last the remaining life of the car! Unless you want to return it to 'as new' condition or run the car another 10 years, I doubt you'd be able to get just the spline drive seperately from the motor.

Hi rob yeah I've looked around and can't seem to find it n thought it was worth while asking on here.
The splines don't look to bad but not did the female sod in the mech itself, but because someone has messed with it previously and had snapped 2 of the screws, I managed to extract them and fix it together properly (motor to mech) but this still hasn't seemed to work and with the spinning of the motor I'm thinking the teeth will be worse.
basically I don't want to try the motor as is on a new mech to find it just shears the teeth on the new mech.
thatnks for your input I think now it is the way forward to just get a new one. Thanks again
