By the Pilot Sport 4 S? I believe that isn't quite on the market or may just be now. But the Super Sport is meant to be still being made in certain sizes following the Pilot 4 launch. It s certainly still available.

    Hello all,

My Pirelli P Zeros 19" are all due for changing soon and just wondering if I should stick the same or if try something else? These came on the car when purchased and so far the only issues with the P zeros have been road noise on certain motorway surfaces but otherwise grip and handling have been very good.

These from Dunlop seem comparable, good rating and just seeing if anyone has any tried these at all?

    Dunlop Sport Maxx RT2 (255/40 R19 100Y Rating C (fuel) A (grip) 70db

    Cheers
    Neil

Try the Uniroyal Rainsport 3, very good all-rounder made by Continental. Pirelli are now Chinese owned, more cheap labour financed European technology drain…

I wouldn't buy RS3 again, had them on my A3 and the fronts lasted 10k all motorway, not that great in the dry, my Dunlop winter tyres have more grip in the dry(!), but as the name suggests, great in the wet.

I'll stick with my Hankook Ventus V12, great all round tyre. Had them on the A4 and now the A3 and will be putting them on the Passat after these Continentials need replaced ~13k miles

I don't care how long a tyre lasts as I don't do enough miles per year to wear a tyre below 3mm before it is four years old when I automatically change them, what I do care about is wet grip, sliding into things annoys me.... one interesting thing I did notice when changing from the noisy RS2 to the incredibly quiet RS3 was changing to the XL version gave amazing reduction in rolling resistance.I changed because I had found non XL tended to look squashed after a few years even though it was the correct weight rating and pressure and after a few years they still look better. Interestingly also noticed the XL are two points better on the fuel consumption ratin, the trade off in ride under certain circumstances is unpleasant but overall worth it. The steering turn in is also better due to the stiffer sidewalls.

Uniroyal RS3 bashing day , another VAG forum , chap not having much luck .

"I had rainsport 3 on my B5, lost 2 far too soon to sidewall delaminations, and the other 2 wore out too fast and the shoulders were too soft for the B5.5 even in XL."
