    Hello Andy,

please help me also 'cause I'm lost :-)
I did the same retrofit on my VW Touareg 7P My2014 with the following components (purchased from ebay):
    - buttons: 7P6 959 719
    - new trim
    - control unit: 4G0907410A and 4H0907410
    - original support for control unit in front bumper beside VW emblem
    - I build the harness and connectors and attached the 2 LIN lines in the corresponding control units J519 and J393 according to the wiring diagrams
I have enabled in green menu the Garage door opener and also in VCDS I selected teh coding bits in both units (what I saw in the long coding as corresponding to garage door opener).
I have now the following status:
    - the buttons are recognized in 09 module as subcomponent
    - I cannot see the control unit as being recognized as subcomponents in any of the modules
    - Pressing the Garage Door Opener menu I have the error "Function is not available"
    - if I press the buttons with the first control unit mounted I have no RF telegram coming from the module
    - pressing the buttons with the second module I bought: 4H0907410 I have RF telegrams transmitted by the module for each of the 3 buttons -> I have and RF monitor box that I used
    - the control unit however is doing something and communicates with the buttons obviously, moreover if I disconnect the control unit, the buttons/LED on them behaves differently -> not lighting up at all (with the control unit the green LED flashes rapidly for each button press.

    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks for help

    Hi Andy,

New here so please be patient with me.
I am attempting to install the homelink in my 2016 Audi q7 4M.
I have sourced all the hardware and installed.
Using VCDS I have enabled " garage door opener " in the central convenience module Byte 22 /Bit 0
I can now see the garage door operating module and the garage door control module listed a sub modules in 09 central electrics
So I assume the hardware part is sorted ok. ( lights flash when I press buttons! )
As yet I am unable to find any reference in the MMI screen to Garage Door Opener, so am unable to do any programming.
I have searched through the coding options of various modules without any success.
I am at a bit of a loss now as to how to proceed.
Any help would be most appriciated.
    Thanks
    Keith

    Hi Andy,

Thanks for taking the trouble to respond.
Unfortunatly being new to the forum I am not yet allowed to send PM's.
Not sure if you can send me one or if I can reply to it?

    Regards

    Keith

    Hi Andy,

I have been digging into some unchartered teratory today.
Playing with some Adaptions that I've not dared fiddle with before.
Anyhow, I have managed to get the "GARAGE DOOR OPENER" listed on my MMI screen, under CAR / Vehicle Settings.
    So another small step forward.
What I am up against now is that this option is grayed out compared to the other options
and when select it I gat the message " this function is unavalable at this time "
I have been searching for other bytes and bits to play with without success.
    So am stuck once again.
A point in the right direction would be most wellcome.

    Regards

    Keith
