    Hi Niall,

The welcome home lights are switched off in the mmi or does it change depending on what key you use as it came with 2. one is well worn and the other barely used so im using the latter
I didnt lose any settings in the mmi apart from the time and the trip reset.
The needles lighting up was happening before I changed the battery

    Gupsterg,

I have a Bluetooth obd2 scanner and an app called torque pro. I used it on my cupra loads and it also worked on a mates 08 tts so is it worth giving this a try. I understand the port is above the accelerator and is pink. Is that right?

Give it a try , some tools don't catch all DTCs/data (VCDS DTC compare), yes that's the port .

yes EACH key is stored in the car for different settings

Your wifes key might have the lights on in the MMi , where yours is switched off

Some cars with electric seats go further, and they adjust the seat to different keys

    water in the footwell ?

If so, you need to take wipers off, remove plastic cover over the wiper motors and clean the scuttle/ plenum chamber out

then find the drain holes by prodding around with a large screwdriver under the brake servo

I just take the rubber drain holes out as they just choke up

then hose the area out to get rid of all the leaves and grime

Interior is bone dry no damp smells or anything like that and the windows hardly ever fog up. I had a seat leon with a dodgy door seal and the windscreen was constantly fogging up.

I will still look at the plenum chamber and any other drainage channels I can find plus electrical cubby holes

I haven't seen any. I'm guessing as I didnt see the fault in the last 2 days when it has been dry yet when I got home today the needles were flickering away. Its been raining here since 10 this morning so its either water related or a fluke I guess
