    Hi all,

My son has just got a 2008 Polo 1.2 Match 5dr for his first car.

We want to fit an Aux-in socket and I think I've established that I can buy something to plug into the cd changer socket, the car has an RCD200 MP3 head unit fitted. Can anyone recommend a reliable easy to install kit to fit?

We are also thinking of fitting rear speakers, I've spotted speaker grilles in the rear door cards and there is a redundant fader control on the head unit. Can anyone confirm if there are wires running to the doors or do we need to wire them in ourselves by replacing or altering the connector block at the head unit and plumbing in speaker cables. The grilles are small and rectangle so I guess I'll need OE speakers to fit?

I apologise if this has been asked a 1000 times before.

Thank you in advance for your advice.

if you look at the manual for the radio .............................. in my sons 2002 Polo, there was 2 radios fitted, one for 2 speakers at the front and the other for 4 speakers as your after

there is no wiring going to the rear speakers if the radio originally fitted had 2 speakers only, certainly in the 2002 9N model

you could take the cover off & have a nosey for any wires

What I did was go to a scrappy and buy for £5 the CD player, you could perhaps buy the CD changer also, I just took out the blank plate below the radio ( again 2002 model) and slid in the CD player

However we live in a modern world & I would suggest buying a brand new radio from Halfords for £50 to £80

They will OR should have a USB port on the front of the radio for a iPhone etc to play music on , certainly they should have Bluetooth also for a wireless connection

You can also possibly get speakers in the scrapyard or Google vw Polo rear speakers as there are lots of speaker manufactors to retro fit cars in the original position, buy some wire and away you go

If the car has a dial for speakers, you may find the previous owner has left wires in place
