I'm just after some advice please. I've had my Allroad for a year now and the front tyres are pretty much shot despite having only covered 8200 miles! They are the Pirelli P Zero 255/45/19 which were the OEM fit tyres. Both front tyres seem to have worn more on the outside edge of each tyre but overall tread is quite low.
My question is does this sound excessive wear for the mileage and what would you replace them with to get better mileage?
The cars not driven hard by any means and is mostly used to longer journeys A Roads / Motorways etc plus I tow the caravan!
Any thoughts would be great before I go and talk to the dealers!

Doesn't sound right. I am at 15,500 miles with the same car and tyres and they are now just about ready to change. My driving is also a combination of A roads and motorway, with the occasional spirited drive.

sounds excessive, I have a an Allroad albeit on 235/55/18 with Goodyear OEM tyres. Mine are wearing really evenly across all 4. I do swap to winters from Nov/Dec -end of March but i would think I have done about 20k on the summer tyres so far and will probably get another 5k out of them at a push. My journeys are similar to yours and i certainly don't drive like Mis Daisy. Maybe it is the compound of the P Zero's?
    Good luck with your investigations.

Sounds like misalignment - my first set did the same and I took it up with the dealership. They would not do anything to compensate for the fact that the tyres were going to need changing with quite a bit of tread left because the edges were badly worn but they did offer a free quattro wheel alignment - but only once 'new' tyres were fitted (can't do the alignment with badly worn tyres). I think I got about 16k out of them. Don't have exact numbers as I had not tracked my swap over mileages for winters <-> summers until recently.

I do a lot of driving on rural roads and do use the available power. I definitely think mine wears rears faster than fronts (so I rotate every time I do the swap from summers<-> winters).

Mine are wearing quite quickly as well on my 2016 A6 Allroad, did 2500 and the fronts were 6mm, rears 6.5mm. Tyres are the same make and size as yours. I've since changed them for 20'" wheels The outside edge on the fronts are again wearing a little more. Forgot to mention that I'm selling my 19" sport wheels with the original Pirelli tyres (6mm and 6.5mm). Not asking much more than a set of new tyres if your interested.

I've spoken to the dealers who are saying that at 8k miles that's about the life expectancy of the tyres and a 4 wheel alignment is required after I've fitted new tyres.
I've mentioned this should be covered under warranty as the car has not been set up correctly from new but they disagree saying the tracking could be altered by speed bumps, potholes etc. I agree that is a possibility but as my wheels have never been kerbed or damaged in any way that this is still unacceptable. Why do I get the impression I'm being fobbed off with excuses?

There's another thread on here talking about what is the best suspension setting for running an allroad. There's a comment regarding running an allroad in "allroad" setting, is very bad for tyre wear, due to lift and subsequent wheel alignment. Might be worth a read?

If the car had never been Kerbed or the tyres damaged I fail to see how the tracking can be knocked out, something would have to move or bend. Cars are aligned from new to allow for the car to settle, I believe that after a few thousand miles from new it's good practice to get the alignment tweaked. That said I have not had my current car done and now approaching 4000 miles. Tyre wear will be heavy on a big heavy 4x4 but should be pretty even across the tread. The pirellis and a lot of performance tyres seem to wear or feather the outside edges quickly.

Hitting potholes or speed bumps can cause tracking to go out.

The loading of the car, too much load with tyres inflated to the light load pressure or vice versa can cause tyres to wear prematurely.
Driving too hard round corners can scrub tyres prematurely.
Hard acceleration/braking can cause premature wear.
