Found this on US Q7 4M forum - works on my A6 4G so should work on A7

After the car is turned off hold down the wiper stalk in the X1 position , and wipers will go into service position - have checked and it works , my A6 is MY 2012 ....

this isnt mentioned in the service manual , so thought I would post

I just grab one of the wipers and move them up, seems to be sort of disconnected when power of.
Done this a dozen times at no harm
