    Passat 2005 130TDi estate:
Have had airbag light on for a while. I have had airbag light on issues since the dreaded water in the footwell issue from the blower inlet some years ago. In the past I have cleared it with VCDS and it generally stays off for months/years. However this time it will not clear. It is

01222-crash sensor side airbag passenger side (G180)37 -Faulty

IS this the sensor under the passenger seat or is it the SIPS sensor in the door and is it likely to be the sensor, the wiring or the CCM connections (as that must have been damp at the time). Don't want to rip out un-necesssary trim. Any suggestions or tips welcome as MOT is due in 3 weeks

pretty sure thats the one under the passenger seat. might be the connections corroded or might need a new sensor. only cleaning it up will tell.

yes, unfortunately I can't remember what the codes have been in the past so not sure if this is same sensor as before. It would make sense for it to be the one on the pass side since this where the water ingress was. Only one way to find out! Pretty sure I read somewhere that sensor doesn't need to be coded so any same part number from a breakers should do...if it's not the connectors that is. Any advice welcome

clean the connectors, try clearing the code. if not then replace it, and no, no coding needed.
