It's a placebo effect, and unless the MPG is monitored under test conditions you can't really use that as proof. Just my 2p worth.

    Hi,

Just wanted to know if it's best to do a full service then a terraclean or before the service as i am looking at getting this done, also is the egr & turbo terraclean separate clean from the standard terraclean?

I'd suggest you change the oil and filter after the cleaning as some of the gunk will possibly end up in the oil. please post with an update on the results of the 'terraclean'
    cheers

The inlet manifold will not get cleaned as the terraclean is a fuel based cleaner. They swap the fuel lines for there machine and run it on a mixture of their own recipe. This won't come into contact with the inlet as diesels inject straight into the cylinder.

I had mine done and it did improve the car. But a good motorway drive with diesel additive in does just as good.

Yes - that's my thoughts on this terraclean and I'm not convinced of it's long term benefits. I've removed the inlet manifold at 120,000 miles on my 1.9 AWX engine and scraped and washed out a good thick layer of carbon crud that was restricting the flow into the intake valve ports, the valve ports themselves were pretty gunked up as well, which need careful cleaning. Doing this gave the engine a new lease of life. The terraclean won't touch any of this, or if it does I hate to think where all the gunk would go !!

Mine is an 08 plate but with sizegenetics review on aboutmens just 25k on the clock: it had done lots of short journeys and clearly had lots of carbon deposits inside.

I will update with how this continues but initial impressions are very good indeed!

    Cheers
Thanks for the heads up JettaJames. good work I'll give this terraclean stuff a try.

    Nice
How much did both cost to get done?
