Great stuff, It's booked in for the cambelt, and I will advise them that this needs adjusting as part of the replacement. I will update this on Wednesday with an outcome and check injector 4 again. Thanks for your help Crasher!

    *UPDATE*

Got the cambelt done and it is running a lot better, not as much smoke now but still some when I accelerate.

Having a quick look it looks like injector 4 is gone! I have attached a couple of screenshots of Group 013 and 004

I take it the next course of action is new injector.

Possible, you could move it to 1 or 2 and see if the problem moved.

    Good call, worth a shot.

Any advice on removing the injector? I have never worked on an SDi injector, all I know is you need to replace the seal. Having a look at some workshop manuals it looks like the suggest using a special puller?

It should come out, you are supposed to renew the seals but for a quick test.

Great, so it would be - Clean area - disconnect fuel pipe from injector - undo pide at pump side and lift it back - pull said injector out of the hole and swap.

Will give that a bash over Christmas!

I use special nylon an brass brushes for bores and mounting surfaces like this which must not marr the surface and gently soft wire wheel polish the seat face of an injector being re-used (NOT the pintle) and to reuse a copper washer anneal it with some heat and when cool, polish off on some 1000 grit on a grade 2 flat bed. Keeping grit out of the bores is imperative and a compression test glow plug adapter with some air pressure in there keeps the crap blowing into your face instead of into the bores.
