    Hi,
Search brought up a few options but wanted to check.
    Audi A4 Avant from 2003.
All climate control / air con controls are working.
    All vents pumping out air.
The only problem is...sometimes it's warm, most times it's not.

I've read it could be matrix or motor but as it is sometimes going hot wondered...

So it works and it doesn't work. More not then does.

    Any suggestions?

In and out pipes both warm, low to high controls all blow at different levels, all vents blow as they should.
System has been checked and small bit of air flushed out.
    Fuses checked.
    No wet foot wells.

    Thanks.

Does it get up to 90 degrees on the temp gauge?

Not sure there. I assume levers / servos would be internal things...in which case no.
Choosing particular buttons on control panel certainly makes a difference to direction etc, amount of air, etc.

Because its getting warm some of the time suggest its not the matrix like you've said ,is the engine temp take its normal time to reach 90.

I've only had car a couple of weeks so not sure what is normal for this one but it gets to 90 no slower than other cars I've owned.

I would still change the stat. The matrix pipes must get hot for it to function

Thanks Mike. Gets to 90 and stays constant so I guess that points to stat being ok.
I'd love to be able to at least try a fix myself at first but may call the local(ish) audi specialist today...

If you are sure the stats OK and still no hot pipe to matrix maybe it needs flushing and bleeding. The matrix may have some gunge in it if proper coolant hasnt always been used. Not easy to clean them but worth a go rather than trying a swop
