    Andy, you wrote...

I think the valve is opening ok as it should lift 25mm each level, and all 4 corners lift, the rear left is still a bit suspect only moving 8-10mm each time, that could be coming from the good right rear lifting the car, if you remove the airline to the rear left corner and ask it to lift do you get air coming out the hose?

Me: I have disconnected the air line to rear left and jacked up suspension to think its low. I can't feel anything coming out of the air line although I can hear the compressor kicking in. Tried this 3 times and cleared faults during tests. Oh and there was not much air pressure in that bag.

Andy: can you run the adaption to lower the 2 RH corners, does it complete?
Me: no tried this yesterday and the rear right would not go back down.

Andy: Is this car new to you?
Me: No. Had for about 3 years now although not always as my primary due to company car that came and went.

Andy: How did the level get so unlevel?
Me: The garage have tried all sorts and I think they have messed it up. I changed the original rear left airbag 6 months ago and that all went well. When the front right failed recently I got the garage to do it and to change all remaining bags due to weather and time. They are not specialists but for all other matters have served me well over the years.

Andy: Have you done a lot of calibrations?
Me: No. Only got the software this week, ran the scans and wanted your input as you are the authority from what I can see!

I have checked for errors and got a new one which I guess is due to airline being disconnected
01776 Control Head for Vehicle leveling system (E281) 57-10 Electric Circuit failure Intermitent

oh and the usual 1400 08-10 error

I guess we need to work out how to get air coming down that air line.

Ok, the 01400 error in not bothered about, its telling us level not achieved,

So yes lets check to get air out to that rear left corner, don't check with suspension jacked up, remove airline, with wheels on, lower car onto its bump stops, turn ignition on error should flash and compressor should kick on and send air to the rear, see if air comes out the pipe, try this.

nothing is ever quite as straightforward.

After putting wheel back on and checking the airline I am not getting any air through it however I then realised that yellow dash light was on so is system not locked then? I have plugged in the pc and it shows error codes including that calibration is required and 1400 so reset. I struggle with calibration as system does not want me to enter or throws me out part way through. I get there eventually but after removing rear right wheel and air from shock again put back the air line to rear left and right and effectively starting again I am able to run calibration.

So currently detail is as follows:-

left side currently on the bumps with about 360mm a piece for front and rear, and 400 and 402 front right and rear respectively. Rear left will not lift is seams and front left is losing air when in position 3 quite quickly so I need to review this for leaks. I understad the airlines go into the front air bags on a push fit basis rather than a screw in like the rears.

So I may have a leak on front left no 1 and rear left is not getting air.

The front airbags are also screw in airline fitting if original

If the suspension error light is on constantly nothing will work, put airlines back on, jack car to 402mm and try adaption, if you get it to complete this removes the control position not learned, this is putting the error light on solid. This is what I would focus on, once it accepts an adaption don't calibrate it again until we fix any other issues, (possible rear left valve not operating and possible front leak)

    Hang in there!!

    Keep us updated.

    Best regards

    Andy

Ok. deflated rear right again refitted wheel jacked both rear wheels with height at very close to 400mm. Front sitting pretty well on that basis without jacks, plus I am working with 2 axel stands (used above) and car jack and nothing else available to me right now. Calibration done from earlier. Tried again but will not let me I keep getting connection dropped when I try and log in despite putting correct code (31564) and logging out and switching off ignition etc.

No errors showing. No yellow light in car. 2 green lights on dash level indicator so all good on that front.

Group 4 reading as follows despite approx level set up of the car. 3, -6, 38, 16

I have stopped and await further advise.

Fronts are ok as you say close enough, can you jack the rear to to within 10mm of zero, and try the adaption, does it kick you out after entering the 2nd group? Or before then?

    Best regards

changed the position of the car with jacks and achieved the following group 4 levels: -3, 7, -3, -4

Assuming this is good enough I have tried to change the levels but can not log in to do process. Getting "Loggin dropped due to dropped session" as soon as I go into adaptation after inputting correct code.

using correct code 31564. I have tried the usual switch off ignition and reboot program with out success. usually stops me getting in when there is a problem.

no errors showing, and no yellow light on dash. engine running. 2 green lights.

ok, so the system now has no faults??

if you keep it on the stands and at heights -3, 7, -3, -4 (roughly) and the car is happy, no errors and 2 green lights on, press up once, compressor should start and car should lift rear 2 wheels 25mm then front 2 wheels 25mm,

does it do this and lift off the stands, or try to?

if not i still don't like that rear left level sensor, in vcds check measuring blocks, group 4, remove the level sensor from the lower suspension arm (10mm nut) and move it gradually to make sure the values move smoothly in vcds

    regards

    Thanks again.

    Correct No Faults.

On arriving at car and switching on levels at -5, 6, -5, 1 this is level 2 with blocks supporting front left, rear right.

Switch on and raise to level 3 which gives: 3, 40, -2, 52

Switch off and front is losing height rapidly. After a minute or so levels at 0, 22,0, 48 with engine off and compressor not running.

Next I remove rear left wheel to get at sensor and unbolt as advised. Inside lights are now showing level 2 on their own after no intervention. Still no errors or warning lights

I move the sensor manually pushing up and seeing initially at 4,4,-127, 76. I move the sensor small amounts readings of 61, then to -12 then to -34. Got to say I am happy with this but will take your advise. I am less so about the rear right. You will see that after raising to level 3 and then switching off the height has gone up further although this may be a tipping effect I suppose of opposite corner dropping but this went from 48 to 76 when as dash indicators show this as level 3 to level 2 so in wrong direction.

I also have air coming out somewhere I think front left.

    HI,

ok the rear left is still suspect, these values are not good: 4,4,-127, 76. it jumps to -127? is this correct? were you moving it gradually and watching the values?, the right side i think is just the car tipping.

    regards
