Hi I'm new here and I'm hoping someone can help.

I have an Avant which the last couple of trips the rear wiper does what it likes! It started with it starting intermittently for no reason but this morning i washed the window and the wiper stayed on until i stopped. It stopped for a while then started intermittently working again without the stalk being on. There are no faults when read or stored.

Was wondering if it was a faulty rely or something.

Has anyone else had or know of this issue?

    Thanks

    Scott

In the cases of other models it usually means the motor will shortly cease to work very shortly.

Usually the water hose is leaking or has come off. Shorting connections on the controller or motor.

Thanks. Only one jet is working out of the two which I've had before which was just a blockage. I take it it's a new motor then.

You will have to remove plastic cover and inspect motor and its circuit. My case was different but this is how it looked. So much about truth in engineering...

On the way home it was on all the time, opened the boot when I got home and water spilled out of the plastic trim. Stripped it down and yes it was leaking in the unit. I've stripped it down and looking at at a repair or replacement.

    Thanks for the advice.
