Apologies if this is a duplicate of a new thread I started a few minutes ago that seems to have disappeared into the ether... That was my first post on this forum so I may have done something wrong.

Anyway, my 1994 80 2.6 has a strange brake fault. When the pedal is pressed down hard, the red warning light on the dash starts flashing and you can feel a vibration through the pedal, as if the ABS is working (which it's not - it's been checked and there are no fault codes and you still get the problem on dry roads at slow speeds where there's no risk of skidding). Could it be a faulty pressure accumulator causing this problem?

    Thanks,
    Paul

this will happen if one of the reluctor rings is broken, so the abs sensor on that wheel sees a drop in the voltage and applies the abs. wont show as a code but can be seen in live data ..

Thanks for that - sorry, what do you mean by a reluctor ring? Is that part of the ABS sensor itself? Presumably the live data feed would identify which wheel was causing the problem?

its a toothed ring on the cv joint or hub that the abs sensor runs very close to. they rust and break. could even just be the sensor needs pushing properly into place.
