Had our 58 plate GT sport diesel since March, and ever since we got it , it's sounded like a bag of spanners on cold start up...really rough and vibey, then after a minute or two it's fine..,.

it's been back to the main dealers twice now...and I also mentioned it seemed to 'stumble' occasionally on a constant throttle at 30 mph..

anyway...they said the manifold was leaking, and put a new one on...but it's still rough and lumpy on a cold start up....If it's normal fine, but if not I'd like it sorted while its still under warranty....

    Anyone have the same thing?

ta Ps..One post wonder. Will try to remedy that

Not quite so bad in warm weather... But this morning for instance, felt like the whole car was shaking when it started.. By the time I'm 100 yards down the road it settles down

No codes.. looks like it will have to go back to VW .. trouble is they will need it overnight so they get to start it cold.. annoying when it will be the third time they've had it

I see your point... it's just annoying that I paid a main dealer premium for it, and got a 2 year VW warranty and it's still not resolved

well, bit the bullet and booked it back in (yet again) with the main dealer on 6th December.... they're having it overnight to get the full 'bag of spanners' effect on start up ....

Well it went in to VW, they kept it 2 days then rang me and said ' the technician noticed the roughness on startup, and the shaking... But he couldn't find anything wrong'

So I asked to speak to the tech...and pointed out that I got the car with a 2 year warranty descrbed as 'good as a new car warranty' then asked him if he'd be happy if his new car was doing that'. Reply was 'Er....no'

he then admitted he thought there was a fuelling problem, probably related to the injectors..but as the weather had warmed up there was not much he can do until it got cold again, and he could stick his diagnostics thingumy on the car as it starts.

so the result of the phone call was that VW are keeping the car until They can sort out the issue, and I've got to slum it with the courtesy car....a 66 plate Polo TSI ...... .. I asked them to let me have the car back fully sorted before the warranty ran out in March 2018

They've had it over two weeks now....got a call from them to say that they have tested it every morning, and found a 'slight fault in two of the injectors' and they will be replacing them under the warranty...so hopefully that will sort it
