Hi My wife gets her new A1 next month, and I wonder if there is a way to switch off the auto stop- start function as there is on my Tiguan, until you turn the ignition off that is then you have to turn it off again,
    many thanks for all input-Roy

You can switch it off once the engine is running, but it will revert to default (on) every time you start the car. The button is on the top of dashboard in front of the pop up screen

I assume that all VAG cars will have the same system. They only car I've seen where you can permanently switch is off is a mondeo!

I'm pretty sure if you have vcds you can get into the programme and turn it off completely and have no problems at all

Yes it is possible to code SS with VCDS on your car to be off by default all the time and with reversed LED. If you decide to turn it back on while driving just push the SS button and it is ON again with LED ON till the moment you turn the ignition off then SS goes off and stays off untill you press the SS button again. To achieve this cool mod you have to do next in VCDS:
    - module 09- central elect>security access>Adaptation>Channel 34>Read (A4,A5 FL from 2012- default code is 28) Add 60 to present value - the new code is 88, test and Save.
    - Default value for A6 4G in channel 34 is 20, so add 60 and new code is 80, test and save

I have one request for people with A4, A5 preFL 2010-2012. Code 88 is not working in the same way as on FL cars despite the fact that channel 34 has the same value 28, LED reversing is missing, only SS is off all the time but the LED is ON so we need someone with A4,A5 preFL 2010-2012 to try to find the right code for SS off/LED off.

    Thank you!
