I'm looking to buy a New Beetle, but only just noticed that they only come with two rear seat belts.

I'm a childminder and need the extra belt (even a two-point lap belt) to ferry all the kids around - does anyone know how easy / feasible it is to fit one?

    Thanks in advance for any

    Wendy

    Ray,

Have you done this and if so, could you provide some details on how you went about putting the seat belt in? I have been wondering for a long time how to best do this so that I can get the darned car seat out and give my brood a bit more room in back.

    Thanks.

I just noticed it looks like Ray has not been around in a while. Has anyone else added a third seat belt to their beetle?

I have just added a lap belt to my 2000 2.0 beetle, I used a lap belt from a mk4 golf, took 15 mins, only 2 17mm bolts to undo and do up again. parts were £20 from a vw breakers. If you need to know anything just ask!
