    Hello everyone,

Its my first thread over here. i was looking for Bora fans forum to ask about the Bora 2003 2.0L that am going to buy soon.

i wanted to know from the users experience, whats good and bad about this model?

i liked the car alot really its nice and handles very well feels like comfortable ride but didnt test for a long ride yet.

i wanted to know what should i take care of in this car, like is there a special issues in this model or not?

and most important is it reliable?

just tell me about ur experience with this car.

    thx

If possible it would be better to get a TDI model.

I've driven a 2.0 albeit in auto and it was slow, horrible and un economical.

2.0 na are slow , thirsty and don't have the driveability torque of a TDI .

Plus if we want more up to 50 extra horses are available with just a remap .

I had a 2.0 8v Passat for a very long time and loved it. All depends on how you use it and what you want from it.

If you have to have a 2.0 and it's available, go for the 20v over the 8v.

I did daily drives of around 30 miles (50km) and saw very low mpg figures (30 to 35 (uk mpg)) but the Passat is heavier than the Bora.

Mechanically, the Bora is just a Golf with an unusable boot and the MKIV Golf is fairly reliable if you treat it well.

The engine was almost bulletproof. I covered 120k miles and aside from the usual service parts - belt changes are essential - the only things that broke were the oil cooler, thermostat and coolant temperature sender.
