Evening all, just picked up a June 99 TT 225q and have a few little things to play with
First thing being the coolant temp gauge doesn't seem to go much over 50 , the heater gets warm but not really hot.
Before I get too involved the car will be having a scan in the near future, but I have been thinking, after a similar issue on a 2001 b6 A4 fitted with the AVJ 1.8 turbo, it was deemed that the coolant temp sender on the rad bottom hose was responsible for informing the gauge and then the ECU, which then instructed the electronic thermostat to open- close etc
Does the 225 in my TT also have an electronically controlled stat, and is the cts in the bottom hose responsible for the temp gauge.
The car runs superbly sweet and pulls like a train but I detected a fuel/fume after around 20 mins of running, when at idle on my return home this evening.
If the cts was dud, could I get a dud gauge, malfunctioning stat, and maybe overfuelling smell or am I barking completely up the wrong tree.
Here in anticipation
