    Hi,

Hoping someone maybe able to help. I have a 2008 2.0 TDI tiguan 140 bhp.

I dropped my car off at the garage with a DPF failure and a oil pressure light faulting. The car had gone into limp home mode.

    Whats happened so far!

    1. DPF regen and those faults all cleared.
    2. Oil pressure sensor changed to try to clear the oil pressure fault. Oil pressure fault still showing.
    3. Oil pump and balancing shaft replaced. The shaft was completely rounded and the oil pump broken.
    4. Oil changed. Oil pressure checked with an analyser and all appears ok @ 2000rpm. Oil pressure fault still showing and no fault faults coming up on the diagnostic hookup.
    5. Appears the turbo as completely failed, but the garage isn't happy about replacing it incase it goes again due the old pressure light being lit.
    6. Garage rang VW (they are independent) and they suggest changing a level sensor in the sump.

Anyone have anything that have give an idea as to why there is an oil pressure fault and yet the diagnostic shows none.

    Any help gratefully received.

The oil pump and balance shaft replacements where both genuine parts as far as I know.

There is no fault code now...thats half the issue, given that the oil pressure fault is still showing

It appears to be working ok. The pressure test gives a positive result.

The issue is, why th low pressure fault and no fault code.

I assume oil pressure test is OK at 2000/min at no load?
If turbo if ****** it may loose oil pressure under load?

Oil pressure is fine as tested stationery. The turbo hasn't been replaced yet.

It's a red oil light. The odd part about it is that it doesn't get lit until the revs pass 2000. Sat there it appears fine!

Nothing odd about it, that is how VAG's dynamic oil pressure warning system has worked since 1981, what is the oil pressure reading in Bar at 2000 rpm with the oil at or above 80 degrees?

@2000 it tests as 7bar so i've just been told. Would the turbo being shot have an affect on oil pressure warning being triggered? Basically what i'm saying is...is it worth putting on a new turbo and hoping for the best?
