    Hi,
We have just recieved the letter from VW telling us we can take the beetlw to the dealership to get the emissions recall sorted. The car is a 2012 140 bhp tdi.

I have heard mostly bad reports about the effect on the 140 engine, so i am a bit cautious about getting the work done.

The car is great fun to drive and returns excellent mpg. So would hate to jeopardise it, just to keep VW happy.

Does anyone have experience of getting the recall on their beetle or any information on what they are changing?

    Thanks

    Kevin

Had my 2013 Tiguan done end of July. Now drives like a dog - noisy/lack of grunt/high fuel consumption. Wish I hadn't had the "upgrade".

Car went back to VW dealer, who messed around with it for 3 days - some improvement, but still not the car it was.

I wouldn't recommend anyone getting their car upgraded unless it becomes an MOT requirement.

IGNORE the recall. DO NOT HAVE it done, you are under no legal obligation to have it done.
