    Hi Guys
I am looking for advice on retro fitting quad climate control to a 2012 A7 S line Quattro 3.0TDI. I changed from a Audi A5 S line Quattro last week to the A7 and would like to fit the climate control to the back seats. I purchased the control unit (4GO919158C) which is a perfect fit to where the open compartment was when I purchased the car. When I removed the compartment I assumed that it would be a plug and play set up but unfortunately there seems to be no loom to connect. Any or all advice is greatly welcomed.
    Thank you in advance,

    John Lemasney.

    Unfortunately it's not that easy.

Do you have access to factory wiring diagrams? VCDS? Do you understand how the car is wired, i.e. Communication methods? Have you researched the differences the rear climate brings, i.e. Are all the heater ducts there? Does the car require more sensors? Does your front climate panel compatible and support rear climate?

If you haven't done your research and don't have the equipment and documentation required then I'd send the unit back for a refund.

Not an easy or cheap retrofit mate. You need extra ducting and sensors for the rear climate, also need to create/buy a wiring loom from the MMI to the new control unit. Also need to upgrade the front control panel if you don't have the one with the digital display.

Thank you Chris and M1tchy I appreciate the info. I in my innocence assumed that all cars would be fitted with the same wiring as a default. Strange that the wiring looms are tailored to the spec rather than the standard model. Looks like a waste of time but a shame as it looks good fitted.
    Thank you again lads,

    John.

As all cars are built by computers and each option scheduled for each car it is actually quite economic to fit just the parts/plugs and wiring looms you require rather than everything with the same wiring loom.

And Mitchy is correct, you need to swap both climate units and add ducting and a new wiring loom. It is not a simple job, I have looked into it on my original A7 2011 as I was disappointed with the dual climate display.

It was possible on the old C6 A6, but not on the C7
MY2014 S7, Phantom Black, 21" rims, Heads up display, Front and rear camera, TV, BOSE, Lane Assist, Side Assist, Adaptive Cruise, Traffic Sign Recognition, DVD changer, Audi LED logos, Lighting pack, MMI touch with Audi connect, lots of others I can't think of but I know they are there.
