    Hi folks

Hope I can get some help. My beautiful TT just dies on me after 15 min runtime. Will not start again while warm.

After cool down she works fine/normal (up to 15 minutes).

    Tester shows no errors

Rele 167 is changed with no effect.

    Where should I look next?

    Thanks

Could be a few things, do you get an eml at all?

Also what diagnostic software do you have?

Have you tried some easy start to see if it's fuel related ?

Thank you for the reply. I have not received any e-mails regarding this.

I used vcds to scan for errors.

What would be an easy start for checking if it's fuel related? Please elaborate

A few more details would help - year of manufacture, engine size (1.8T?) engine code , recent maintenance or work done, previous problems (related or unrelated to current issue)
Failing that, guesswork - could be loads of things, coolant temp sender, secondary air injection etc...

It's a 1999 1,8t 8N3. I have had it for two years and the only repair needed for me was a failing MAF. That fault gave an engine failure warning and showed up in the scan. That was more than a year ago.

The car runs perfectly nice and I use it every day as a drive to the office is only 5 minutes. If I take her on longer trips she goes dead after more or less exactly 15 minutes.

If I let her cool down she runs perfectly again until warmed up to the same level.

I would guess it is heat related and through other forums I have been encouraged to change the cam shaft sensor. A bit strange that it doesn't show up as an error on scan but I have received the part but haven't gotten through to do the repair.

Getting it fixed in auto shops can bee deadly expensive in Norway and as she does her main job getting me to/back from the office I have lesser urgency

Vcds thats good, try doing live data readings on fuel trims etc.

Easy start, I was thinking if this because it can kinda rule out if it's a fuel delivery problem or not.

I have not been able to run vcds when the car fails. I borrow it and it is not that much fun driving around until it suddenly stops (at an awkward place of course).

What is the easiest way to test fuel delivery?

Sounds like fuel or spark problem maybe, if it was a a cam sensor then surely vcds will flag a code but if you now have the part and it's a genuine one replace for the 10mins it takes.

Next check the spark advance and coil packs.

    Oki, thanks

With reference to the 10 minutes... this says 3 hours.
