Think my regulator has gone as had the crisp packet/eating a light bulb sounds emminating from the door.

Originally I thought something (maybe twig) had somehow fallen in and was upsetting things so Took the interior trim off today hoping to see if I could work out what was going on. Switch activated the window fine and other door related electrics appear to be working so don't think I've got Apillar cable wear issues (yet).

I fettled around a bit and used the switch to move the window And it went crazy spasming around and moving downwards overall despite me trying to coerce it upwards with my hand. Eventually it stuck 2/3rds up and the motor didn't even attempt to move it and trying to force it manually now seemed impossible. I thought I should probably go get on the forum at this point.

hoping my curiosity has't caused any further damage and it's just the cable has eventually snagged on something as it's clear from info on here that scary noises from doors mean regulator issues.

in case it helps others here's a load of posts that seem to offer something to do with this topic:

Did my passenger side a couple of years ago, would recommend using genuine part at £90 ish unless you love doing the job so much you want to do it all again in 6 months. Follow one of he guides and you should be ok, took me a couple of hours including coffee break, could probably do it in half that time now!

All done last Saturday, weather was helpful and didn't rain on me. Don't think I set any records time wise. Gave all the window runners a good dowsing of silicone spray so hopefully that'll keep everything running smooth for a bit.

    cheers
