2009 - A4 Convertible Bootlid Handle

Hi all,
Just sold my 2002 Lupo GTI (summer car ) and bought my first Audi, 2009 sline, TDI drove it back from Darlington to Glasgow, drove faultless, anyhow noticed the rear boot handle which incorporates the rear number plate lights was badly corroded , also had a bulb out, bolts are rusted solid so removed trim to take out complete handle, no part number on, found out from local Audi dealer it's 8E0 827 574 E3FZ I need, they want £120 +VAT for the privilege, my question is I can get the same part 8E0 827 584 C3FZ, which apparently fits the a3, can anyone advise if this part will fit ? , or point me in the direction where I could get a replacement part, whichout paying Audi OTT prices.

Was the corrosion not covered by the corrosion warranty?

The car has not got full Audi service history, hence why I'm trying to revolve myself, as I know Audi will just knock it back as warranty.

When I have made a corrosion warranty claim there has been no question about the Audi service history.

I'm afraid I cannot answer your question.

Spoke to Audi today, as this is not part of the chassis and classed as a external part of the car. It only comes with a 12 month warranty from date of registration, thanks info anyhow, back to square one...

They replaced the tailgate handle on my 2000 B5 A4 under warranty at about five or six years old and repaired the boot lid on my B8 at six years old.

I guess I'm just unlucky, plus I've recently just bought the car, but may call Audi customer service , maybe they can help out..
