My 2.0 diesel Passat B6 is leaking oil from the actuator pivot for the swirl flaps and it is expensive to replace does anyone have a repair solution for this or know if I can remove the swirl flaps and blank off the leak? Thanking you in advance.

No known repair kit for the flap rail in the plastic manifolds unfortunately. Some switch to the flapless metal manifold version (if you can find a used one). Removing the flap rail from the plastic manifold, making the vacuum actuator system redundant and coding it out to stop fault codes is messy.

Thanks for that Mitch, what would be your suggestion as the best cure for this problem other than spending around £500.00, assuming that there is another way around it. If I were to fit a metal manifold would anything need recoding? and do you know the part number of the metal manifold? Sorry for so many questions but just trying to decide what is the best thing to do.

The plastic manifolds are on Darkside Development for around £360 including the gaskets I believe. Other than that there are a few metal manifolds out there and you would still have to make the vacuum actuation system needed for the flaps redundant.

    They also do this: http://www.darksidedevelopments.co.u...rsion-kit.html

Read this on an Audi Forum (same engines and manifolds):
