I am trying to get used to the Sat Nav system on my new car which has Active Info Display.

I must say I would have my old afterfit unit from my B6 in a heartbeat, it was a Kenwood unit and it was brilliant.

My question relates to POI and if there is a way to view them in list form rather than map form?

With my previous unit if I was looking for a supermarket in an unknown area, pressing a button would give me a narrative list and I could choose one and navigate accordingly.

With the Discover Media unit I need to choose shopping centre and it will seem to put scores of flags on the map. Some of them are corner shops and you have to click each one to find out what it is. There are so many of them that it stacks them all and there is hardly any map left to look at!!

I find this completely unusable but cannot find a way around the display?

I have the same issue - it suggests really random "Julie's Corner Shop" and rubbish like that. I search for, say, Asda, by typing it in to the search facility on car net and it seems to find it but, as you say, it's not an ideal system.

Do you not have the voice control activated? Mine has it and I use it all the time, saves scrolling through the map/directory for something.

Voice control,... does this solve the issue with the POI-list presentation?

I think you can do this with CarNet can't you? I certainly had a list of car parks to choose from when I last used it. When I get stuck in traffic tomorrow I'll take another look...
Now: 2016 Passat SE Business Estate | V&C Pack | AID | DLA | TPMS
Old: 2012 A4 Avant SE Technik | TDIe | Tech Pack High | Foldy Mirrors | TPMS | Heated Seats | Auto Hold

Tree POI are default: "restaurants", "gas stations" and "parkings". From a list you can make your own selection, but this selection only appears as icons on the map, not a list to choose from.....
